Overview:
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Vancouver’s iconic TD Tower, Cadillac Fairview launched a campaign celebrating the building’s prominent role in the city’s business district and its deep ties to the local community. The project required a magazine design that would honour the tower’s rich history while reflecting the distinct identities of both TD and Cadillac Fairview.

Approach:
As part of Hill & Knowlton Canada’s creative team, the design task involved developing a visual system that thoughtfully merged TD and Cadillac Fairview’s brand guidelines without allowing either to dominate. The design drew inspiration from TD Tower’s signature black glass façade and its striking 30-story height, weaving these elements throughout the editorial layout to create a cohesive narrative. Archival photography, key historical milestones, and notable events from 1972 to the present day were curated to tell the tower’s story in an engaging and authentic way.

Solution:
The final design balances heritage and contemporary aesthetics by blending archival content with clean, modern typography and layout structures. The magazine not only celebrates the tower’s past but also embodies a forward-looking perspective, making the campaign a fitting tribute to 50 years of architectural and community significance.
